Digital publishing
The digital revolution has come to affect all of us - in the way we communicate with each other, in the way we shop... and of course in the way we publish. But not everything has changed.
As the Web started to take off in the 1990s, many commentators pondered whether the writing was on the wall for print publishing. More than 15 years later, we can point to the casualties and the survivors. Newspapers - and particularly local newspapers - have seen their circulations and revenues tumble. But magazines have proven much more resilient, with readership figures and revenues significantly up over the past 15 years.
Many publishers have come to realise that smart publishing does not involve making an absolute choice between print and digital; instead, it involves using both, playing to the strengths of each medium.

Digital magazines
Digital "turning-page" magazines are cheap to produce (and so are a very cost-effective way of boosting your total readership), and are a superb repository of archived information because they can be keyword-searched. Readers can also click on "live" links in the digital magazine to go straight to websites or references cited in the text. Click on any of the covers below to see what digital magazines look like.

E-newsletters
Many print publishers now also use e-newsletters, communicating more frequently with their readers without pushing their costs up significantly. As well as carrying news, e-newsletters can of course be used as "teasers" for more extensive content posted on a client's website (or on a mini-site hosted by CPL), or simply to generate advertising revenue. The e-newsletters we write, design and broadcast for our clients vary in circulation from a few hundred to well over 100,000, with frequencies ranging from weekly to quarterly. Click on the examples below to see the e-newsletter in full.
Websites
No need to say much about websites, except that any self-respecting organisation with members, customers or readers knows that it needs one if it is to be taken seriously. And we build them! Some are designed to appeal to consumers; others are showcases for magazines; others are portals for membership organisations. We also design and build microsites to support marketing campaigns, or to host e-newsletter content. Click on the screen-grabs below to go to the websites themselves.
