A4e logo

A4e

A4e (originally ‘Action for Employment’) was established more than two decades ago to help redundant Sheffield steelworkers retrain so that they would find new work in other industries. Today, the organisation operates in more than 200 locations across three continents, working on behalf of governments and official agencies to improve people’s skills and get them back into work.

In 2008, A4e asked CPL to write and design a new magazine called Blueprint that would showcase global best practice in delivering front-line public services. We continue to produce the magazine.

Interact Publishing

Interact is a small company which has gained a reputation for publishing some of the most authoritative and best-selling books about sport available today. One of Interact's best-known titles is World Cup Stories which accompanied the major BBC TV documentary series of the same name. CPL was asked by Interact to design this book along with a Match of the Day annual.

Le Monde diplomatique

Le Monde diplomatique is a monthly newspaper founded in 1954 by Le Monde, the respected French daily newspaper of record. As its name implies, Le Monde diplomatique originally circulated to diplomats and foreign policy experts; today, circulation is 2.5 million via 70 different language editions, each of which customises its content for its intended readership.

In 2007 CPL was asked to take on the production of the English-language edition of Le Monde Diplomatique. Our work includes sub-editing, design and picture research.

Molson Coors logo

Molson Coors (UK)

Coors Brewers was created in 2003 when the US brewing giant bought Burton-on-Trent-based Bass Brewers. Six years later, Coors Brewers Limited changed its company name to Molson Coors Brewing Company (UK) Limited. The company brews Britain’s biggest-selling beer, Carling, as well as other leading brands such as Grolsch and Coors Light.

We are responsible for writing, designing and printing Cheers, which is one of the company's employee communications vehicles. The company has around 2,500 employees based at a number of different sites across the UK, and Cheers keeps Coors people up to date about the way the company is responding to the challenge of staying at the forefront of one of Britain’s most competitive industries. The magazine recently won a top award from Communicators in Business.

Pathfinder Business logo

Pathfinder Business

We were asked to come up with design concepts for a new magazine by Pathfinder Business, which has been set up to help UK businesses make the most of the commercial opportunities offered by developing world markets, including the Gulf States, Russia, India, Brazil, China and south-east Asia.

Launched early in 2007, Pathfinder Business is distributed to small business advisors, accountants and venture capitalists working with expanding UK companies, as well as directly to businesses themselves. CPL is responsible for design, sub-editing and printing; we also designed and maintain the Pathfinder Business website.

Phoenix International Publishing

Essentially America is a respected destination and lifestyle magazine read by frequent leisure travellers from Britain to the United States and Canada. Published quarterly, and with 50,000 circulation, the magazine is packed with colourful and informative articles about the North American travel and holiday scene. Early in 2002, CPL was appointed by the magazine's American owners, Phoenix International Publishing, to carry out all design and print work on the title.

In addition, CPL is responsible for all design and production work on the publisher's extensive series of guides produced in association with North American States and travel organisations, currently numbering around 20 different publications. We also design and broadcast Phoenix's many e-newsletters.
